Inside the Auto Immunity – ANA Profile
The Auto Immunity – ANA Profile in Dubai reports 17 autoantibodies from one blood sample: antibodies your immune system has made against your own tissue, most of them directed at parts of the cell nucleus and a few at other cell structures. The panel names which antibody is present, because the target is what matters: dsDNA, nucleosome, histone, Sm, PCNA and Rib-P0 point towards systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE); SS-A/Ro 60kD, SS-A/Ro 52kD and SS-B/La towards Sjögren's syndrome; CENP-B and Scl-70 towards the limited and diffuse forms of systemic sclerosis; U1-snRNP towards mixed connective-tissue disease; Jo-1, Mi-2, PM-Scl and Ku towards inflammatory muscle disease and overlap syndromes; and AMA-M2 towards primary biliary cholangitis.
It is ordered when symptoms have gone on too long without an explanation: joint pain that moves around, prolonged fatigue, recurrent fevers, muscle aches, or a rash that flares in sunlight. A positive antibody supports a diagnosis; it never makes one on its own. Low-level antinuclear antibodies are found in healthy people, more often with age, and can follow an infection or a course of certain medicines, while a negative result does not exclude autoimmune disease. What the pattern does is narrow the field, so your doctor knows what to test for next.
One blood sample is all that is needed, taken by a DHA-licensed phlebotomist at your home or office anywhere in Dubai at no charge, seven days a week, or at the lab if you prefer. No fasting and no other preparation is required, so any slot works. This is a specific antibody panel rather than routine chemistry, so it takes longer than most tests: your physician-reviewed Smart Report is ready in 7 to 8 days.
The results belong in front of a doctor, ideally a rheumatologist where a connective-tissue disease is suspected, alongside your examination and inflammatory markers. Tell them about every medicine you take, since a few are associated with an antibody pattern of their own.

Book with nothing to prepare
There is no fasting and nothing to avoid beforehand. Choose a home visit or a lab appointment at any time of day, and note any medicines you take, since a few affect antibody results.

One blood sample at home
A DHA-licensed phlebotomist draws a single sample at your home or office anywhere in Dubai, free of charge, seven days a week. Nothing else is collected and no second visit is needed.

17 targets, reported separately
Your serum is tested against all 17 antibody targets at our EIAC-accredited Dubai laboratory (ISO 15189:2022, DHA licence 0046381), and each is reported on its own rather than as a single overall result.

Reported in 7 to 8 days
This panel takes longer than routine chemistry. Within 7 to 8 days a physician-reviewed Smart Report reaches you, listing each antibody as detected or not and grouping them by what they point to.
Frequently asked questions
It tests your blood for 17 autoantibodies reported on an extended ANA profile: proteins your immune system has made against your own tissue, most against parts of the cell nucleus and a few against other cell structures. Instead of a single yes or no, the report names which are present, and that pattern points your doctor towards one condition rather than another.
No. A positive antibody supports a diagnosis but never confirms one by itself. Lupus is identified clinically, from symptoms, examination and several tests read together. Some antibodies, such as anti-Sm and anti-dsDNA, weigh heavily in that assessment; others turn up in people who never develop a disease.
Yes, and it is common. Low-level antinuclear antibodies appear in people with no autoimmune disease at all, more often as we get older, and they can follow an infection or accompany certain medicines. That is precisely why the result has to be read next to your symptoms.
It makes an antibody-associated connective-tissue disease less likely, but it does not exclude autoimmune illness: some conditions are antibody-negative, and antibodies can appear later in the course. If your symptoms persist, your doctor may test other things or repeat this panel in time.
Broadly: dsDNA, nucleosome, histone, Sm, PCNA and Rib-P0 towards systemic lupus erythematosus; SS-A/Ro and SS-B/La towards Sjögren's syndrome; CENP-B and Scl-70 towards systemic sclerosis; U1-snRNP towards mixed connective-tissue disease; Jo-1, Mi-2, PM-Scl and Ku towards inflammatory muscle disease; and AMA-M2 towards primary biliary cholangitis.
Joint pain that moves from one joint to another, prolonged fatigue, recurrent unexplained fevers, muscle aches and weakness, a rash that worsens in sunlight, or persistently dry eyes and mouth. Symptoms lasting weeks with no obvious explanation are the usual reason to test.
A single result tells you antibodies are present; it does not say which. Naming the target changes what your doctor does next, because anti-Scl-70 leads somewhere different from anti-SS-A or anti-Jo-1. That specificity is the whole point of reporting each target separately.
Usually not. Once an antibody pattern is known it rarely changes in a way that alters treatment, so repeating the whole panel adds little. The exception is anti-dsDNA, which doctors do follow over time in lupus. Your rheumatologist will say whether a repeat is worthwhile.
No fasting and no special preparation, so any appointment time works. Do not stop prescribed medicines in order to take the test; tell your doctor what you take instead, because a small number of drugs are associated with an antibody pattern of their own.
The panel is AED 459, including free home sample collection anywhere in Dubai seven days a week and a physician-reviewed Smart Report. Results take 7 to 8 days because each antibody is tested individually rather than on a routine analyser. Our care team can advise via contact.

I had my full OGTT done at Intel Lab and had a great experience. The employees were very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout the process. They explained each step clearly, which really helped ease my nerves. They also took my blood sample very carefully, especially since I’m afraid of needles, which I truly appreciated. Everything was handled professionally and smoothly. Highly recommended!
