The attention was very clear and fast. Jophy Mathew was very polite and kind with his service, 5 stars for him. The medical testes were quickly. I recommend this company a lot!

Inside the Cold & Flu Essential
A sudden fever leaves one question open: which virus is behind it. The Cold & Flu Essential in Dubai answers it with a real-time PCR panel of 10 pathogens read from one nasal swab: influenza A, including its subtypes, and influenza B, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) types A and B, parainfluenza types 1, 2 and 3, and adenovirus. Between them they cause most seasonal fevers and flu-like illness in adults and children.
At the bedside these infections overlap almost completely, so naming the organism is what changes the plan. Influenza is the one where an early antiviral conversation matters, particularly for older adults, pregnant women and anyone living with asthma, heart disease or diabetes. RSV is the usual cause of bronchiolitis and wheeze in infants and can hit older adults hard. Parainfluenza sits behind croup; adenovirus often adds sore throat, red eyes and a fever that drags on. A name also settles the antibiotic question: none of these responds to one.
The sample is a nasal swab, taken by a DHA-licensed phlebotomist at your home or office anywhere in Dubai, seven days a week, at no extra cost. A soft-tipped swab passes along the floor of one nostril to the back of the nose, is rotated for a few seconds and withdrawn; it makes the eyes water briefly, nothing more. No fasting is needed: eat, drink and take your medicines as normal. Results reach you within 48 hours as a physician-reviewed Smart Report.
PCR detects a virus's genetic material, so a positive means that material was in your nose at the time; it is not by itself a measure of how infectious you still are. A swab taken in the first hours of illness can read negative before the virus is shedding in quantity, so your doctor may repeat it if symptoms persist. For a wider net, Cold & Flu Advanced extends the same swab, and Respiratory Viruses & Bacteria adds the bacterial causes too.

One nasal swab, taken at home
A DHA-licensed phlebotomist comes to your home or office anywhere in Dubai, seven days a week, and takes a single nasal swab. Collection is free, and a lab visit is available instead.
- 2
Nothing to prepare, no fasting
No fasting is needed for this panel and no medicine has to be paused. Do mention any nasal spray or decongestant used in the hours beforehand, since it can dilute what the swab picks up.

Multiplex PCR on 10 targets
The swab travels to our EIAC-accredited laboratory (ISO 15189:2022, DHA licence 0046381), where multiplex real-time PCR searches for each virus's genetic material in a single run.

Your report within 48 hours
Within 48 hours a secure digital Smart Report names every virus on the panel as detected or not detected, physician-reviewed, so you and your doctor work from a name rather than a guess.
Frequently asked questions
10 pathogens from one nasal swab: influenza A, including its subtypes, and influenza B, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) A and B, parainfluenza 1, 2 and 3, and adenovirus. Each is reported on its own line, so you learn which virus is present rather than simply that something is.
Real-time PCR looks for the virus's genetic material and finds it at far lower levels than a rapid antigen strip, which is why a home kit can read negative early in an illness. It also covers ten viruses in one run rather than one, so a negative influenza result still tells you what you do have.
Fever, chills, body aches, a new cough, sore throat, a blocked or running nose, hoarseness, or wheeze in a child: especially when the illness arrives suddenly. It is also worth a swab when a household is passing something around and you want to know exactly what.
Not on its own. PCR finds genetic material, and that material can stay detectable after you start to feel better, so a positive says the virus was present rather than that you are still shedding it. Your doctor weighs the result against your symptoms and how long you have been unwell.
A swab taken in the first hours of an illness can read negative before the virus is shedding in quantity, and some viruses sit outside this panel: SARS-CoV-2 among them, covered by the COVID-19 PCR Test. If symptoms continue, your doctor may repeat the swab or move to Cold & Flu Advanced.
Yes. It is quick, and our phlebotomists swab children often: a soft tip along the floor of the nostril, a few seconds of rotation, done, usually with the child on a parent's lap. If your child is very distressed or has had recent nasal surgery, speak to us first via contact.
This panel covers the core seasonal viruses. Cold & Flu Advanced adds a second viral panel to the same swab (the four seasonal coronaviruses, rhinovirus, enterovirus, bocavirus and human metapneumovirus), which suits a cough that will not settle or an influenza test that came back negative.
It can. An influenza result is the one most likely to prompt an early antiviral discussion, especially if you are older, pregnant or living with a lung or heart condition. For the others care is supportive, but a name tells your doctor an antibiotic would add nothing and helps you plan rest and time away from others.
AED 449 all in, with results within 48 hours as a secure digital Smart Report. That covers the nasal swab, free home collection anywhere in Dubai, analysis on our multiplex PCR platform and physician review, with nothing added at the door.
Yes to the first, no to the second. A DHA-licensed phlebotomist visits your home or office anywhere in Dubai seven days a week at no extra cost, and there is nothing to fast for: eat and drink as usual. If you would rather come to us, a lab visit can be arranged.

I had my full OGTT done at Intel Lab and had a great experience. The employees were very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout the process. They explained each step clearly, which really helped ease my nerves. They also took my blood sample very carefully, especially since I’m afraid of needles, which I truly appreciated. Everything was handled professionally and smoothly. Highly recommended!
