Inside the Male Fertility
A Male Fertility Test in Dubai answers what a semen analysis cannot: whether the hormones that drive sperm production are working. The panel measures 9 markers from a single blood sample: follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinising hormone (LH), total testosterone, free testosterone, sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), estradiol (E2), prolactin, quantitative beta human chorionic gonadotropin (beta hCG) and cortisol (AM/PM). It suits men planning a pregnancy, couples investigating fertility together, and men with low libido, erectile difficulty or persistently low energy.
The value is in how the markers frame each other. LH and FSH are the pituitary's instructions to the testes: low testosterone with high FSH and LH points at the testes, while low testosterone with low or unremarkable FSH and LH points upstream. Total testosterone on its own is easy to misread, because SHBG carries most of it: when SHBG runs high or low, free testosterone is the sharper figure. A raised prolactin suppresses LH and pulls testosterone down with it, estradiol shows how much testosterone is being converted, and beta hCG serves here as a testicular tumour marker rather than a pregnancy test.
All 9 markers come from one blood sample and no fasting is required. Timing is what matters: testosterone and cortisol both follow a daily rhythm and peak in the morning, so an early appointment gives the most interpretable result. A DHA-licensed phlebotomist collects at your home or office anywhere in Dubai at no charge, 7 days a week, and your physician-reviewed Smart Report is ready within 48 hours.
A single low testosterone is not a conclusion; it is usually confirmed on a second morning sample before any treatment is discussed. Your doctor reads the panel alongside your examination, your history and, where it has been done, a semen analysis.

Take the earliest slot you can
Testosterone and cortisol peak in the morning, so the earliest slot gives the cleanest result. Choose a home or office visit anywhere in Dubai, or come to the lab: 7 days a week either way.

One tube, no preparation
Eat and drink normally; nothing on this panel needs fasting. A DHA-licensed phlebotomist takes a single blood sample, and all 9 markers are run from it.

Processed under ISO 15189:2022
Our EIAC-accredited Dubai laboratory runs the hormone assays and a physician reviews the full set before release, typically within 48 hours of collection.

Totals, free fractions, LH and FSH
The report shows total and free testosterone next to SHBG, and the pituitary hormones beside them, so your doctor can see whether a low reading comes from the testes or from the signal.
Frequently asked questions
9 markers from one blood sample: FSH and LH, total testosterone, free testosterone, sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), estradiol (E2), prolactin, quantitative beta hCG and cortisol (AM/PM). Between them they cover the pituitary drive on the testes, how much testosterone is actually available to your tissues, and the hormones that suppress both.
No: this is the hormonal half of the work-up. A semen analysis assesses the sperm themselves and is collected at the lab rather than at home, so it is booked separately. Many men do both, and the two reports are read side by side.
Because SHBG carries most of the testosterone in your blood, and only the unbound fraction reaches your tissues. Weight, thyroid disease, liver disease and age all move SHBG, and when they do a total testosterone can look reassuring while free testosterone is low.
They locate the problem. FSH and LH are the pituitary's instructions to the testes: if testosterone is low and both are high, the testes are struggling to respond; if testosterone is low and both are low or unremarkable, the signal itself is at fault. That distinction changes what your doctor investigates next.
Men convert part of their testosterone into estradiol, and the balance between the two matters. A relatively high estradiol is associated with breast tissue growth, reduced drive and weaker sperm parameters, and it can explain why symptoms persist despite an unremarkable testosterone.
Yes. Prolactin suppresses LH, and testosterone falls with it, bringing low libido, erectile difficulty and reduced sperm production. A persistently raised prolactin also prompts your doctor to look at the pituitary gland itself, so it is worth checking early rather than late.
Here it is not a pregnancy test. Beta hCG is produced by certain testicular germ cell tumours, so a quantitative result is a sensible safety check on a panel already examining testicular function. Your doctor interprets any raised value alongside an examination and, if needed, imaging.
It is the efficient way to do it. A male factor is common enough that testing in parallel saves months of sequential investigation. The Female Fertility panel is her equivalent, and both can be collected in the same home visit.
No fasting: eat and drink as usual. Book the earliest slot you can, though: testosterone and cortisol are both highest in the morning, and an afternoon draw can make an adequate testosterone look borderline. Our care team will suggest a suitable time when you book.
AED 399 covers all 9 markers, the free home visit anywhere in Dubai and the physician-reviewed Smart Report, which appears in your secure dashboard within 48 hours of collection. Nothing is billed afterwards, and a confirmatory repeat is booked the same way.

I had my full OGTT done at Intel Lab and had a great experience. The employees were very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout the process. They explained each step clearly, which really helped ease my nerves. They also took my blood sample very carefully, especially since I’m afraid of needles, which I truly appreciated. Everything was handled professionally and smoothly. Highly recommended!
