Because the symptoms overlap almost entirely. Burning on passing urine is as likely to be a urinary infection as urethritis from a sexually transmitted organism, and the two are treated quite differently. Screening both from the same sample stops the process of elimination taking three appointments.

No. HPV genotyping needs a swab or a liquid-based cytology sample rather than urine, so it runs separately as the HPV panel. The two are often taken at the same time when cervical screening is part of the picture.
