Inside the Extensive Cardiac Function
Extensive Cardiac Function is a heart health checkup in Dubai for people who want more than a cholesterol number. It pairs the advanced cardiovascular markers apolipoprotein B (Apo B), apolipoprotein A1 (Apo A1), lipoprotein(a) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) with a full general screen of lipids, blood sugar, liver, kidney, electrolyte and vitamin markers, a complete blood count and a routine urinalysis: 73 biomarkers from one appointment. It is aimed at adults over 40, at families where heart disease has appeared early, and at anyone already carrying high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, extra weight or a smoking history.
Standard lipids describe how much cholesterol is circulating; the apolipoproteins describe how many particles are carrying it. Because each atherogenic particle carries a single Apo B, the result can run high even when LDL cholesterol looks acceptable; the report also calculates the Apo B to Apo A1 ratio. Lipoprotein(a) is largely inherited and stays broadly stable through life, which is why one measurement is usually enough to know whether it belongs in your risk picture. High-sensitivity CRP adds the inflammatory dimension that lipids cannot show. Fasting glucose, glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c), uric acid, kidney filtration and protein in the urine are here for the same reason: metabolic and renal strain raise cardiovascular risk.
Collection is a blood draw taken after an 8–12 hour overnight fast, plus a urine sample for the routine urinalysis, both handled in one visit. Plain water is fine, and prescribed medication (statins included) should continue unless your doctor says otherwise. A DHA-licensed phlebotomist attends your home or office anywhere in Dubai, 7 days a week, at no charge, and results are typically ready within 48 hours.
Your doctor reads the panel against your blood pressure, weight and family history. Lipids and hs-CRP are usually repeated as treatment changes; lipoprotein(a) rarely is.

- BIUBilirubin, Indirect (Unconjugated)Unprocessed bilirubin: rises with red cell breakdown and Gilbert's syndrome.
- BTBilirubin, TotalDirect and indirect bilirubin together, a staple of liver function panels.
- PTSProtein, Total, SerumAlbumin and globulin combined: liver, kidney and nutrition.
- ALBAlbuminThe liver's main blood protein: low in liver, kidney or nutrition problems.
- ASPAspartate Aminotransferase (AST/SGOT)Liver, heart and muscle enzyme, usually read alongside ALT.
- ALAAlanine Aminotransferase (ALT/SGPT)The liver enzyme that leaks into blood when liver cells are damaged.
- GAMGamma Glutamyl Transferase (GGT)Liver enzyme especially sensitive to alcohol and bile duct blockage.
- SODSodiumThe electrolyte governing fluid balance and blood pressure.

Diabetes
2 tests- HA1HbA1cYour average blood sugar over the past 2–3 months, no fasting.
- GFGlucose, FastingBlood sugar after an overnight fast: a front-line diabetes test.
Vitamins & Minerals
2 tests- VITVitamin D, 25 Hydroxy (25-OH), TotalThe definitive vitamin D test: bone, immunity and mood.

Lipid Profile

- 1
Fast overnight, book the morning
Cholesterol, triglycerides and fasting glucose are read most reliably after an 8–12 hour overnight fast, so an early appointment lets you sleep through it and eat straight afterwards.
- 2
Two samples, no stool kit
Unlike the whole-body checkups, this panel asks only for blood and a urine sample for the urinalysis, so the appointment is short: a few minutes at home, at your office or at the lab.
- 3
Cardiac assays and ratios
Apo B, Apo A1, lipoprotein(a) and high-sensitivity CRP are analysed at our EIAC-accredited laboratory (ISO 15189:2022), DHA licence 0046381, and the lipid ratios are calculated from your own results.

Risk picture in 48 hours
A physician-reviewed Smart Report follows within 48 hours, setting all 73 biomarkers out by system so the cardiac markers can be read directly against the standard lipid panel.
Frequently asked questions
Three things a lipid profile leaves out: Apo B, which counts the artery-damaging particles rather than the cholesterol inside them; lipoprotein(a), an inherited particle that runs high in a sizeable minority of people; and high-sensitivity CRP, which measures low-grade vascular inflammation.
Every atherogenic particle (LDL and VLDL alike) carries exactly one Apo B molecule, so Apo B counts particles while LDL cholesterol weighs their contents. Small, cholesterol-poor particles give a reassuring LDL alongside a high particle count, and the particle count tracks more closely with artery disease.
Your level is set mainly by genetics and changes little across adult life, so a single measurement usually settles the question. If it is high, it does not respond much to diet or standard statin treatment, and your doctor manages the rest of your risk factors more assertively instead.
Atherosclerosis is an inflammatory process as much as a lipid one, and hs-CRP detects the quiet, persistent inflammation associated with heart attack and stroke risk. It is measured when you are well: an infection, injury or flare in the days before the draw will lift it for reasons that are not cardiac.
Because they change the interpretation. Fasting glucose and HbA1c flag diabetes and prediabetes, both of which raise cardiovascular risk; estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), creatinine and protein in the urine flag kidney strain, which does the same and often accompanies high blood pressure.
This panel goes deeper on the heart alone: Apo B, Apo A1 and lipoprotein(a) appear here and not in the Master Health Checkup. Master is broader instead, adding thyroid, reproductive hormones, iron studies, homocysteine, fasting insulin and stool microscopy. Depth here, breadth there.
Choose it when the standard numbers have already been measured and the question is still open: a strong family history, an early event in a close relative, or treatment that has not moved your risk as expected. For a first look at cholesterol alone, the lipid profile is the proportionate step.
Fast for 8–12 hours overnight, with plain water only. Keep taking prescribed medication, including statins and antihypertensives, unless the doctor who prescribed them has told you to pause: the panel is far more useful measured on your current treatment than off it.
A blood draw and a urine sample, both taken in a single appointment at your home or office anywhere in Dubai, 7 days a week, by a DHA-licensed phlebotomist at no extra cost. A lab visit is available if you would rather come to us.
Same price, opposite shapes, and the same 48-hour wait. This panel spends the money on depth at the artery: Apo B, Apo A1 and lipoprotein(a). The Elite Health Checkup spends it on breadth: thyroid, reproductive hormones, iron studies and stool microscopy. Buy depth if the heart is the question.

I had my full OGTT done at Intel Lab and had a great experience. The employees were very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout the process. They explained each step clearly, which really helped ease my nerves. They also took my blood sample very carefully, especially since I’m afraid of needles, which I truly appreciated. Everything was handled professionally and smoothly. Highly recommended!
